Correlation between Late Cord Clamping and Phototherapy and Other Neonatal Unfavorable Outcomes: A Randomized Clinical Trial
نویسندگان
چکیده
Background: Recently, late umbilical cord clamping is generally recommended, which decreases neonatal anemia; however, it may also increase jaundice and some other poor outcomes. Objectives: We here attempted to determine whether actually increases the incidence of phototherapy for outcomes term “low-risk newborns”. Methods: With approval Brazilian Registry Clinical Trials (REBEC), a total 357 low-risk newborns (singleton, uncomplicated pregnancy/delivery, in public institution) were randomized into two groups: group I (n = 114): 1 minute (early clamping) or II 243): between - 3 minutes (late clamping). Statistics used appropriately (i.e., measures central tendency, dispersion continuous variables, Shapiro-Wilk, Mann-Whitney test, Chi-square test). Results: Phototherapy was performed 5.3% both groups. Also, there no statistical differences occurrence secondary outcomes, such as sepsis, ICU admission, transient tachypnea newborns: i.e., 0.9%, 15.8%, 3.5%, respectively versus 1.2%, 15.6%, 5.8%, II. Conclusion: Late does not need neonates. This result corroborates current recommendation clamping, whenever appropriate.

Background: The best method for repairing intertrochanteric fractures is still controversial. The fixation methods includeextramedullary (EM) and intramedullary (IM). Studies that compare IM and EM fixations for unstable hip fractures arerare. In this study, our goal was to compare the efficacy of EM and IM fixation in treatment of unstable intertrochantericfractures.Met...

متن کاملDelayed cord clamping with and without cord stripping: a prospective randomized trial of preterm neonates.
OBJECTIVE Autologous blood transfusion from the placenta to the neonate at birth has been proven beneficial. Transfusion can be accomplished by either delayed cord clamping or cord stripping. Both are equally effective in previous randomized trials. We hypothesized that combining these 2 techniques would further improve outcomes in preterm neonates. STUDY DESIGN This was a prospective randomi...
